ARMY
The following applies the the new Blue Army Service Uniform (ASU)
and is included in the current edition:
Soldiers may refer to the old Army Blue Uniform and the Green
Class A's in the uniform guide as the measuring and positioning
guidelines are the same for the ASU for all devices worn.
The new Combat Service Identification Badges (CSIB) are worn as
follows on the new ASU: Males wear the CSIB centered on the right
breast pocket. Females wear the CSIB on the right side parallel to
the waistline.
Overseas service bars may be worn on the new ASU in the same
manner that they were on the Green Uniform, and enlisted soldiers will
wear the same size service stripes as they did on the green uniform.
The new Army Combat Uniforms are included in the current edition.
The new Afghanistan and Iraq Campaign Medals are worn respectively
after the Kosovo Campaign Medal and before the Global War on Terror
Expeditionary Medal. Service stars AND arrowhead are authorized on the Iraq and
Afghanistan Campaign Ribbons.
The new Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal and Global War
on Terrorism Service Medal are worn respectively before the Korean
Defense
Service Medal and after the Iraq Campaign Medal. Service stars
AND arrowhead are authorized on the Global War on Terror
Expeditionary Medal. Service star is authorized on GWOT
service medal.
The new Korean Defense Service Medal is worn after the Global War
on Terror Service Medal and before the Armed Forces Service Medal.
The reverse field patch (flag) in red, white, and blue is sewn on
the right sleeve, 1/2 inch below the shoulder seam. If a combat
patch is also worn, the flag is sewn 1/8 inch below the combat
patch. Subdued flags are NOT authorized.
Up to 5 badges may be worn on the Class A uniforms.
The Sapper Badge is included as a group 4 badge.
The Combat Action Badge is a group 1 badge.
